International students can bring their spouses and dependent children. The accompanying spouse will be granted a visitor visa or a work permit to find a job depending on their needs, and the accompanying dependent children will be granted a study permit and will be able to study for free in public schools.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Legal residents living in one of the following countries can apply under the <strong>Student Direct Stream, or SDS,<\/strong> is a program designed to make the process of applying for a Canadian study permit faster and more efficient for some international students.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Antigua and Barbuda<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Brazil<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">China<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Colombia<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Costa Rica<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">India<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Morocco<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Pakistan<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Peru<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Philippines<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Senegal<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Saint Vincent and Grenadines<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Trinidad and Tobago<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Vietnam<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>To submit an application for a Canadian study permit through the SDS program, prospective student applicants must:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Provide a copy of a letter of acceptance from a Canadian Designated Learning Institution\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Provide a copy of a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL), unless they meet the exception<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Present a confirmation document for the applicant\u2019s upfront medical exam<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Prove that they have obtained a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) of $20,635 CAD minimum<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Prove that tuition fees for the first year of study are paid<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Provide proof of language test results completed within two years of the SDS application being received<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Provide documents required by Visa office: Police Certificate, Study Plan, Income, Bank Statements, Funds, Current Diploma \/ Most Recent Transcripts \/ High School Graduation Exam Results<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Financial institutions that offer eligible SDS GICs<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Bank of China (Canada)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Bank of Montreal (BMO)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Bank of Nova Scotia<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Habib Canadian Bank<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">ICICI Bank Canada<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Canada) (ICBC)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">National Bank of Canada<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Royal Bank of Canada (RBC)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">SBI Canada Bank<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Shinhan Bank Canada<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Toronto-Dominion Bank<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>IRCC accepts the following English language tests:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">IELTS Academic (minimum overall score of 6.0)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">IELTS General Training\u00a0score of at least\u00a06.0 in each language skill level (reading; writing; listening; and speaking)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">CELPIP General (minimum score of CLB 7)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">CAEL (minimum score of 60)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Pearson\u00a0Test of English (PTE) Academic (minimum score of 60)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Educational Testing Service (ETS) TOEFL iBT Test (minimum score of 83)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">An application that is approved will be issued a letter of introduction, or what is officially known as a Point of Entry letter of introduction, and a temporary resident visa to enter Canada.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The letter of introduction, or Port of Entry (POE) letter, is issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) as proof of approval for a study permit and is presented to a visa officer upon arrival in Canada.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Citizens of one of the countries listed above cannot be residing in another country at the time of applying for a study permit through the SDS program.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Canada Visa focuses on study applications for the province of Alberta.
